About our Pastor

          Reverend Revel Matheke is a life-long Presbyterian and holds a Master of Divinity degree from the Iliff School of Theology in Denver.  Before going to seminary, Revel enjoyed a successful career in nursing followed by several years as executive secretary to the president of Loretto Heights College in Denver, and to the executive director of the Denver Foundation, where she worked closely with community leaders.  She later became program assistant in the Iliff Institute for Lay and Clergy Education which provides continuing education for lay persons and clergy.  Her work at Iliff became her incentive for entering the ministry.

Prior to coming to Saratoga, Reverend Matheke served for five years at the First Presbyterian Church in Saint Paul, Nebraska.  Before going to Saint Paul, she served as interim pastor at Trinity Church in the Pines in Grand Lake, Colorado.  She also was Volunteer Coordinator for the 215th General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (USA) held in Denver, Colorado in 2003.
         
Reverend Revel's husband Dr. David Matheke, was a Presbyterian minister for 42 years prior to his retirement.  Between them they have four grown children - all scattered across the country from Boston to the west coast of California. 

Revel is a native of Colorado and appreciates her mountain roots.  She enjoys cooking, gardening, and all sorts of needle crafts and puzzles.
